Letty supports her mother and brother by working as a salesclerk in a department store. When a co-worker mocks her, Letty pretends a handsome male customer is her boyfriend and will be her escort at the store’s spring dance. The man, Vince, becomes friendly with Letty and her family and does take her to the dance. Furthermore, he’s actually the new co-owner of the store, and will marry Letty.
