Chuck suspects Spud Rankin of blackmailing Rocky Stoner into throwing baseball games so that the gambler can win sure bets. Chuck tells Rocky to make a clean break with Spud, or the Cleveland Indians will never consider hiring him. After practice, Dusty, Hal and Chuck all see Rocky getting into Spud's car and wonder why the ball player is consorting with a known gambler.
