Chuck and his group arrive at Copper River and begin to survey planting plots before they lay out homestead claims. Swarms of mosquitoes make the job impossible and they need to drain the swamp before any work can get started. As the swamp starts to drain, Chuck collapses with fever and a novice radio ham puts out a call for assistance.
