Richard Carson, Genji Odashu, and Ilongo Savage are summoned by Dr. Tambura to Shogun Sanctuary. There, they pilot the Shogun Warrior Raydeen (a giant robot with horns and a pharaoh's beard) into battle against Rok-Korr (a giant cyborg monster) created by the evil Maur-Kon that emerges from a volcano and attacks Japan. After Raydeen beheads Rok-Korr, lava pours out of it's body and forms into an even bigger lava Rok-Korr. The pilots head back to the sanctuary where Odashu and Savage are told that they will each pilot Shogun Warriors of their own, while Carson will remain in Raydeen.
