After a brawl in Poppa and Annie's Short Stop truck stop, U.S. heads back to his truck to continue his run and deliver his load. A mysterious woman in a mask named Midnight chases U.S. on her motorbike, and she tells him that she's been hired by the Highwayman to kill him. U.S. manages to break Midnight's spell over him by chewing a piece of gum, and leaves Midnight and her motorbike in a heap on the side of the road.
