Mary falls in love with Bruce and Vic, and can’t choose between them. Vic is leaving for Korea in 2 weeks and wants to marry her before he goes. Mary has to make a quick decision: she tells Vic she loves him but he’s being forced into proposing before he was ready. She says “if we were meant to be husband and wife” then it will happen no matter what. Vic promises to come back from the war and marry her.
