Molly Manton runs a boarding house and shares the stories of her lodgers and family. Molly’s daughter Marie wants to divorce Fred, who lacks ambition. Lucy is courted by Ben and Jack, then Ben falls for new guest Louise. Jack is killed testing a new airplane, and boarder Verne is exposed as a foreign agent. Louise is cleared of embezzlement charges and will marry Ben. Lucy gets a movie contract and Fred is promoted so the divorce is cancelled.
