After driving away Tendril, the Earth Corps decide to go underground. There they are attacked by D'Compose and Tendril. They are saved by the Granites and the Redwoods led by Redlen. After returning to the surface they find that the evil oil tycoon Blackthorne Shore has convinced a corrupt politician to cut the Earth Corps funding. Meanwhile Sandra Shore (Blackthorne's sister) teams up with the Earth Corps, funding new weapons for them and donning a suit herself. The team goes underground and confronts D'Compose who mutated bats into monsters called \"Deathbats\" and sends them after the heroes.
