The Flash #148

Finally released from prison, Captain Boomerang attempts a crime spree, but at every turn he is taunted by the mysterious Crooked Four, who manage to beat him to his intended crime. Turning his attention to the Flash, he builds a giant boomerang that will catapult his enemy into orbit around the Earth. Flash escapes and captures Boomerang, sending him back to prison, and he never learns that the Crooked Four were led by his former cellmate Fanning, who devised a complicated scheme to influence him subconsciously while he slept.
