With no money, Sally and her new French friend, Michelle, have to get jobs as waitresses. Michelle is perceived as very feminine and helpless, and she brings out the protective side of any man she is with. Meanwhile, it is Sally's brain that gets noticed by her new boss, who gives her more and more responsibility. But Sally's responsibilities at work get her into trouble with her boyfriend who has some old-fashioned ideas about girls.
