Dave Bannon, correspondent from headquarters, seeks to join a routine mission to get some news copy. Bannon delays the patrol to keep notes in his little black book. As a snow storm worsens, the patrol finds a Red mine field and a captured village. The \"inkslinger\" becomes a hero, but hi book is lost.
