Newly divorced, Anna Solomon sets up a record-producing company in competition to her ex-husband and his brother. She soon finds a girl group to sign up, high school classmates of her daughter Ruthie. When the father of one of the girls objects, she and the girl's mother decide to create a demo record. But all this activity leaves Ruthie isolated.
