Later, the two agree to forge a union between the Amazons and the Atlanteans by marrying each other. However, as the ceremony is about to start, Artemis disguises herself in Garth's armor and kills Hippolyta. Garth discovers Artemis' treachery, but is killed before he can reveal the truth.
