A girl doesn't want her flower to die in the winter but her mean brother cuts it off and presents it to her. The child's mother doesn't want her belief in the power of love to be extinguished so she fibs to her that her corsage from the wedding never faded and asks the girl to place the rose in with the memento. Surprisingly, the rose does not fade.
