Bert and Fran have been perceived as a couple for years but in high school Fran craves a kind of excitement Bert apparently cannot provide. She dates bad boy Jerry Hopper. When he involves her in a stolen car incident, she returns to Bert who promises to do his best to provide her with the romantic excitement and attention she needs.
