Clara refuses to commit to marrying Randy. Randy consults Dr. King and he advises him to give Clara time, and a short time later Clara accepts Randy's proposal. But she postpones the wedding to care for her hospitalised sister Ellen’s family. Randy suspects Clara loves Pete, Ellen’s husband, and breaks their engagement. Dr. King convinces Pete to pretend to romance Clara: this dispels her crush on him, and allows her to wed Randy with a clean conscience.
