Disappointed in her quest for love, teacher Annie asks to be reassigned to a school in a different area to get away from her memories. Sent to a rural area, she meets adult student Jeff and tutors him so he can attend veterinary school. They fall in love. This upsets Mrs. Hanlon, who wants Jeff to marry her daughter Elvira. Annie is fired but will marry Jeff and help him achieve his career goals.
