Colonel Hawkins and Lieutenant Brown, both of the Galaxy Garrison, recruit a team of skilled individuals for a secret mission. The recruits include Lance McClain, Sven Holgersson, Tsuyoshi \"Hunk\" Garrett, Darrell \"Pidge\" Stoker and Keith Kogane, who each offers unique talents, from piloting to combat to technology. Meanwhile, on the planet Arus, the princess Allura is visited in a dream by her late father who foretells the return of champion to restore the planet: Voltron.
