Death and Fate take control on a France-bound airplane. They crash the plane, leaving a sole survivor. Hubert Newton takes on the identity of rich French heir Victor de Murrain and moves into his family castle. Fate doesn't approve of the personality switch and confronts Hubert with the ghosts of the Murrain family.
