Loveland #1

Jan lives and works on her father’s sponge-diver boat; he forbids any of the crew to associate with her. Jan falls in love with new crewman, ex-Navy diver Steve. Steve refuses to take any more abuse and tells the Captain he’s quitting and Jan’s going with him. Jan’s forced to dive in Steve’s place and is attacked by a shark. Steve saves her, but they both have to be rescued by the Captain, who now blesses their romance.
