While digging on his estate, Richie discovers a cave that leads to an underground laboratory. He takes a sniff of a strange potion and it makes him dizzy. When he stumbles out of the cave, he is in a strange and primitive place. He then meets a scientist named Keno, but learns that the native people do not trust science.
