Cover AConan is captured and tortured by Zafra the wizard, but Zafra then dies of his own hand as he tries to kill Conan with an enchanted sword. Conan frees Isparana, but finds himself in the middle of a revolution as the nobleman Balad tries to depose Akter Khan. With contempt, Conan watches Balad killing the unarmed Khan, but Balad dies soon thereafter from Zafra's final enchantment. Conan and Isparana goad the rebels into making Akter's son Jungir the new khan.
