Tomahawk #140

When word spreads through town that Annie Douglas has been kidnapped by tribal natives, Hawk agrees to bring her back himself to head off the threatened lynch mob. However, when he finds her, she refuses to leave because she has married Brave Bear, her supposed captor. He forces her to go with him anyway, but on the way back she is bitten by a copperhead. Hawk does what he can to help her, but Brave Bear catches up to them. Annie pleads for Hawk's life as he saved her from the snake's bite, and Hawk stands aside when Brave Bear takes his wife back to the tribe.
