Trying to help his science teacher Mr. Larkin, Superboy chases three red kryptonite meteors through the time barrier. In ancient Egypt he helps build a pyramid and forces the pharaoh to stop enslaving his workers. The red kryptonite turns him into a lion-human hybrid, and the workers create the sphinx in his memory.
