Accompanying Irene on an interview with movie star Delia Day, Alan Scott becomes suspicious, spying her talking to hoodlum \"Slug\" Kafey. Taking action as Green Lantern, Scott discovers that Day is being blackmailed because her father is actually racketeer Al Maloney. GL interviews Maloney in prison and finds that Frankie Fowler is the only other person who knows the connection between the two and races to find Fowler, but Delia is already there paying the blackmail. Fowler forces GL to surrender to save Delia, but Maloney bursts in, there is an exchange of gunfire, and both men are killed.
