Chuck expects his girlfriend Sally’s rich father to find him “nice cushy desk duty” in the Coast Guard but is instead assigned to cutter duty. He decides to break up with Sally, but first goes out on a rescue mission and is commended for heroism. Sally says she never asked her father to help Chuck, because she knew Chuck was only asking for shore duty for her sake. Chuck agrees.
