Gillian sings at a night club for the money to put her sister through school after her father had been killed by bandits. With the night club closing temporarily for renovation, she gets an opportunity to visit with her sister at the estate of one of her sister's friends. An outbreak of mumps keeps the school in quarantine, but Gillian's invitation still stands. However, when she arrives the family has another guest - a man who had seen her performing at the night club and thinks she is making up stories about her past to deceive her hosts.
