Paula was engaged to a pilot who flew experimental jets for Incorporated Research Airways. But after Ken had a crash landing, she was stunned when another woman showed up at his hospital room and the woman was obviously more than just a friend. It was then that she got involved with an American who had been brought in to take over while Ken was in the hospital. She agreed to marry Ken's understudy, but after learning that Ken would be piloting a dangerous space probe flight she realized that she still loved him.
