True Life Library #22
Jean receives a letter from a solicitor stating that, if she can prove her identity, she will hear of something to her advantage. On the train to London, she tells another girl about her good fortune. But the train is involved in a crash and the other girl thinks Jean is dead. Seeing an opportunity for herself, the other girl takes Jean's handbag and leaves her own so she can take Jean's place. The shifty solicitor soon guesses the other girl's plan, but wants a cut of the inheritance for himself. Meanwhile, the real Jean is alive, but has lost her memory.
