Marvel Milestone Edition: The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (149)

Spider-Man and Ned have been captured by the Jackal who tells of how a professor was so affected by the death of one of his favorite students that he became a supervillain. The Jackal tells of how he cloned Gwen Stacy to bring her back into his life. As Spider-Man races to rescue Ned from a bomb, he is forced to battle a clone of himself. Warren is berated by Gwen's clone and comes to his senses, sacrificing himself to save Ned's life. Warren and the Spider-Man clone are apparently killed. Gwen's clone tells Peter that she wants to leave the past in the past and takes off to start a new life.
