Jimmy Gray rescues Betty Archdale on the streets of Cairo. After another attempt on her life he \"sends\" The Shadow to investigate the Asp who killed her father. The Shadow hides in the sarcophagus of King Tut Ahkram III only to be taken by barge down the Nile. With Betty kidnapped The Shadow is forced to reveal where he hid the King's jewels. Both end up in the river with the crocodiles.
