The prologue to the book, showing Hurricane Katrina as its builds from a tropical storm in the Gulf Coast into a powerful hurricane. The prologue show how the full force of the storm hits Biloxi, Mississippi, and how the after-effects of the storm ‚ — the storm surge and the over-topping of the levees — flooded New Orleans. The prologue ends with a devastated Biloxi and a flooded New Orleans.
