Tom and Madeleine are engaged. He wants to save money and buy furniture sensibly, but Madeleine takes $100 from their joint account and impulsively buys two lamps. This causes Tom to miss a chance to invest in his company, and he breaks up with Madeleine as a result. Madeleine consults Mr. Anthony: he convinces her she was in error. Tom and Madeleine are reunited in his office and will marry after all.
